Let God light your path each day…

36:09 Psalm “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” (NIV)

Light. It is essential to life. It travels fast (186,000 miles per second). It is made up of ALL of the colors and those which we can’t visibly see. We get both direct light and reflected light. These are all created light… created by God. He is the source of light. In Him is no darkness at all. Seek His light to light the way for you through life. Be His light to a dark world. Shine on!

Don’t believe their flattery!

36:02 Psalm “In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.” (NIV)

We see it far too often. People start to believe the flattery that is heaped upon them. They lose track of who the really are. They are being set up for a great and tragic fall. And they do come crashing down… physically… emotionally… mentally… and only then do they realize how far they were from grace. Don’t let that happen to you or those you love. Know who you are and whose you are… children of the living God. Heirs to a kingdom. Loved by God!

When did you rejoice in the Lord, lately?

35:09 Psalm “Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.” (NIV)

Rejoice. No, really ‘Rejoice’! We are not the ‘frozen-chosen’ as some would view Christians. We are to be a warm, kind, loving, and generous group… ALL because of what Christ did for us on the cross. Now that is something to rejoice about every day! And, it is OK to let your enthusiasm show. Show your delight in all that God has done for you.

When will the Lord come to rescue you?

34:19 Psalm “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.” (NLT)

Trouble. You don’t even need to look for it. Trouble will find you. And when it does, who do you look to for rescue… your financial advisor… your boss… your family… the government (good luck with that). Others may help a little but it is God who has the power and the will to rescue you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He does not want you to fall or fail. Trust in Him and He will always rescue you!

Turn away from evil…turn NOW!

34:14 Psalm “Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (ESV)

To repent means to turn around and go a different direction. That is what we do after we sin. Here, King David tells us that as we even approach evil or wrongdoing, we can turn away from it. We can do good instead of doing something sinful and evil. It may sound easy to turn away but that often requires the help of God to move you (literally) out of the path of sin. Then seek peace in your life. Follow after it every day until it is yours, forever.
