What is your commitment to the Lord?

37:05 Psalm “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.” (ESV)

What was your biggest commitment? To go to college… to get married… to buy a house… to start a business… OR is it to follow Jesus, now and forever? When we make a commitment, it is a BIG deal. It is a decision made. It changes our actions. It gives us focus. It satisfies a great desire within us. It has implications for those around us. It can be life-changing. That is what following Jesus is… life-changing. Our old-self is gone, we are a new creation in Him. Trust in Him and live like you believe it with all of your heart… and mean it! What a blessing you will be!!

You can commend this verse to ALL of your friends on social media and on your email list (again, please pass this on!) Ask what their biggest commitment has been. Ask how that changed them and if they are still committed fully to it. Pay close attention to how they respond. Consider that we make a commitment every time we say the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. We make a commitment every time we say the Apostle’s Creed. These are powerful commitments. Work to live up to each of them. Then help others to make a commitment to know Jesus. Best decision ever! Please Take Time For God’s Word© whenever you think of a commitment you have made, then think of this verse as ’’, and then ‘trust in him, and he will act’. This is a short and powerful verse. It is another reminder for us to use at the beginning of each new day. We have the opportunity to commit the day to the Lord. Let Him be the priority. Let His love guide us in all of our interactions with others. Let His spirit speak through us in kind words and statements which are honest and true. Imagine what a great day it will be and trust God to guide you each step of the way. Enjoy you walk with Him!!

Our verse for today is consistent with our prayers for all of our seminaries and places for training up our next generation of pastors, ministers, and missionaries. Our world is in desperate need. Church attendance is declining. Church buildings are being closed or repurposed for secular use. Many have no Bibles in their homes. Many more have Bibles but do not open them to read or study God’s Word. Yet, we have hope. We know that God will raise up those to carry on His way. Encourage young people to commit to serving Jesus. Support them. Mentor them. Be blessed to be a blessing to them. Pass it on knowing that He will act on your behalf! Praise the Lord!
