Abram was called and he trusted God!

12:02 Genesis “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” (NIV)

Genesis gives the names of key people within the families extending from Noah. It gives the years that they lived. It tells who their children were. It shows how God blessed them from generation to generation. God picked Abram to become the father of many nations at a time when he had no children and his wife, Sarai, was barren. He told Abram to leave the land of his father and to go to a land that God would show him. Abram obeyed. His faith increased. His name became great. He was blessed by God to be a blessing to others. Use your blessings to be a greater blessing to others as well.

Each day we live, we have yet another opportunity to share more about God and the love of Jesus as you comment, click like, and click share on these verses and as you give them to family or friends. Ask if they have heard of Abram. Ask if they recall why God changed his name to Abraham. See what they share with you. We saw this recently when the war started in Ukraine. People packed up and left for fear of what would happen to them in the war. Millions left home and family to seek shelter and safety. God called Abram to leave behind his homeland and to go to a new place that God would lead him...and he went willingly as He trusted in God. Would you do that if God asked you today to leave it all behind? That’s a big ask...that’s a lot of faith. Trust Him in all things. Always Take Time for God’s Word© throughout each day or as you see 12:02 on a clock, watch, or phone around you. Set a Reminder on your phone for 12:02pm on Wednesdays and copy in this verse. Set a ringtone that is somber to go along with this verse. I am sure it was a serious and somber decision to go wherever God would lead them. I am sure it was not easy. Yet, we know that God delivered on His promises to Abraham, and he was the father to many nations and to many people in our world. Go and do the same...be faithful to God and follow His leading.

We ask that you pray for all the seminaries and places of training for our pastors, ministers, and lay leaders across our churches. We need more and more clergy to be trained up to fill in for those who are retiring from their years of leadership in the church. There is a huge shortage of trained Christian leaders in our churches. Encourage young people to consider this for their lives. Tell them that you are praying for them. Support them with your gifts and funds. Be a blessing to future generations as you invest in these institutions. What a great blessing it will be. THANK YOU! Then, stay blessed in all that you do. Pass it on to those who don’t know the story of Abram who became Abraham and who was part of the lineage of Christ...God’s plans are always fulfilled.
