How much love do you show?

7:47 Luke “Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.“ (NIV)

Jesus was invited to the home of a Pharisee for dinner. A woman came from the outside and knelt at Jesus feet. Her tears were wetting His feet and she wiped them with her hair. She poured perfume on His feet. The Pharisee was a bit upset because he knew the kind of woman that she was. Jesus asked if a man owed a little and another owed a lot, and their debts were forgiven, which would love more. It was clear that this woman knew her sins and knew that Jesus could forgive them… and He did. He does the same for each of us… even with ALL our sins… we are made clean through His sacrifice.

Please forward this verse to anyone who may need a lot of forgiveness. Ask the same question that Jesus asked the Pharisee. Ask if they owed a little or a lot and it was forgiven, who would they love more. See how they respond. This may hit home with a number of people right now… in the middle of the pandemic. People may owe a LOT of money because they are out-of-work. They wonder how or when they will ever be able to repay it. For us, Jesus paid the price for ALL our sins once on the cross. We can now know His forgiveness… forever. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© often each day or as you look down at your feet or 7:47 am or pm. In the past, I flew more than 100,000 miles each year often. It seemed that I was always at an airport somewhere. This verse reminded me of the HUGE 747 airplanes. I always wondered how something that big could ever fly… but they did. I no longer fly much these days (especially due to COVID-19) but that 7-4-7 number will stay with me and I will tie it to the HUGE number of sins that Jesus forgave in my life. I do hope that you can recall this verse AND how much we should love Him for His great sacrifice for us!

We lift up grateful prayers for ALL the police, firefighters, EMT drivers, and SO MANY MORE who are ‘essential’ to our safety and wellbeing. We knew that these men and women put their lives on the line for us each day. With the COVID-19, they are at an even greater risk and sadly, more than a few have died from that virus. Remember their families in prayer. If you know some personally, reach out and let them know that you pray for them. Find ways to show appreciation for what they are doing for all of us. Be that blessing to them. Pass it on to all those who have little or much to be forgiven by God… and know that He will do that out of His great love for us!
