The least in His kingdom will be greater!

7:28 Luke “I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.“ (NIV)

Jesus spoke to the people about the mission and ministry of John, the Baptizer. He reminder them of how John lived and how he preached a message of repentance. John performed that mission well. Jesus commented that John was great in what he did… yet, those who follow after Jesus and seek His kingdom will be even greater by comparison. Knowing Jesus sets us apart from others. Their greatness and importance of people in the world cannot compare with what we have in knowing Jesus as Savior and Friend. When we have Jesus in our hearts, we have everything truly worth having… because it has eternal value. Everything else will pass away… only Jesus love will remain.

Please extend this verse to family, friends, and neighbors. Ask if they really miss watching sports events on TV right now. Ask if they see just how unimportant sports and sports players are when we focus on ‘essential workers’. Listen to how they respond. We all are seeing the value of the workers in food stores, gas stations, drug stores, etc. We also see the great value in our medical professionals and SO MANY more. These people put their lives on the line for us. Thank them when you can. And, Take Time For God’s Word© day-by-day or as you see ‘essential workers’ or 7:28 am or pm. This may be another verse to print out and to carry in your pocket or purse. When you see it, take it out and read it again. Too often, we compare what we do or can do to others and it doesn’t seem all that great. We put ourselves down for no good reason. Instead, we need to see how much God values us. So much that He sent His only son, Jesus, to die for our sins. He wants us to be with Him for eternity. That sounds pretty important to me. He made each of us… just as we are… and ‘God don’t make junk’ (as the saying goes). You are priceless. Now, live that way and throughout ALL that you can do or be… give Him the glory and praise due His name. In the shortcut typing of kids today it would say: UR>NE1NOZ (‘you are greater than anyone knows’). Live like it!

We end our monthly prayer list by focusing on that one person you know that desperately needs to know Jesus in their lives. This may be a family member, friend, co-worker, or just an acquaintance. You see their need and their pain and you KNOW that Jesus can help them and change them for good. If you can’t think of anyone, then broaden your outreach because there are millions out there. Today, we focus on that one… that one that has touched your heart. Be persistent in prayer. Tell them that you pray for them. They need to know just how much you care for them. Continue to be that blessing in their lives. Stay blessed in all that you do. Pass it on wherever you go and let His light shine through you so that God will get all the glory and praise.
