Be an example of His love…

6:31 Luke “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (NIV)

Jesus gave simple statements that will have a profound impact if we follow them faithfully. Most translations say ‘do to others’… which is a good phrase. The Good News Translation says, “Do for others as you would have them do for you.” I like that. It has more of a ‘servant’ theme… doing ‘for’ others’… helping them… enabling them… encouraging them… sharing with them… and more. That is what we are called to by Jesus… willing servants… serving lovingly… caring deeply… believing passionately… trusting completely. Let that be our hope this Easter and every day that we live… to let the Good News be alive in us!

Please give this verse to all friends and family… everywhere. Ask if they ever imagined an Easter like this one. Ask if it gave them more focus on the message of Easter rather than on a large church service. How would your reply? This is a MOST memorable year… so far. The sacrifice of Jesus was memorable forever! None of our actions can change what He did for us. He overcame death itself… so that we could be with Him forever. That message is just as exciting this year as in every other year. Give Him the thanks and the praise! Next, Take Time For God’s Word© often each day or as you do good for others or at 6:31 am or pm. I would encourage you to put this verse as an Alarm on your phone at 6:31am. Copy the verse in as the title. Set the ringtone to be bright and cheerful. It is a daily reminder of how we are to live. It then becomes a way of life. Seeking to help others and looking out for them… just as you pray that they are looking out for you. If we truly ‘love one another’ as Christ has loved us… this will be a very different world… AND it can happen through you and through me. Live as He commanded… and love as He loved us!

Our prayers go out to all the food pantries and soup kitchens around our country. Normally, Easter would be a special meal served to those less fortunate. Due to ‘social distancing’ and ‘no large gatherings’ those traditions did not happen this year. We still need to make sure that we are sharing and caring for those in need and some are now in greater need due to the restrictions of the pandemic. Be generous to share your blessings with others. Help where you can. Encourage others in the faith and to be faithful. His love never fails. May others see that love in your words and in your deeds each day. Pass it on by living fully to His honor and praise and glory now… and forever! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
