Are you willing to turn the other cheek?

6:29 Luke “If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.” (NIV)

Jesus spoke about non-violence in a very violent world… much like ours is today. He talked about restraint. He talked about suffering. He talked about finding other ways to help people. It must have been hard for people to understand… just like it may be for many of us. Jesus tried to tell us that we are not to react in anger or in rage… but to seek ways to show His love to those who may persecute us. Seek His peace in all situations.

Please help by sending this post to someone who needs to be able to ‘turn the other cheek.’ Ask if they have ever faced a situation where they had a chance to ‘turn the other cheek’. Ask if they did that… OR if they gave payback to that other person. Listen to how they reply. We see that Jesus did just that… to the soldiers… to the religious leaders… to Pilate… to the crowd… AND He did it all for us! We pray that in this unique time in our history, that we put our full trust in God’s plan. The world has made MAJOR changes in the past 3 months that previously would have been thought impossible. We may not know why… but God is still in control. Remember to Take Time For God’s Word© daily or as you feel persecuted by others or at 6:29 am or pm. Print out this verse card (and extra copies) and carry them with you. Look at the verse often. Practice what Jesus told us. See the best in others. Show them His love. Don’t stop showing them the love of Jesus. His love never quits! We should never quit sharing that Good News! Be prepared to celebrate that resurrection… ask others to join you online for an Easter worship service!

Each month we pray for all the foster care groups and families across our country. So many kids of all ages are hoping to have a chance to be part of a family. Many have been in foster care for a long time… they need to have hope… hope that they can be loved within a family. Help to support them. Support any foster families that you know. Become a foster family if you can. Continue to stay inside. Continue to stay safe and well. Continue to be blessed in all that you do. Continue the work of the Lord (and pass it on)… until He comes again!
