Don’t look for everyone to welcome you…

6:26 Luke “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.” (NIV)

Jesus also spoke words of ‘woe’ to those who felt that they didn’t need to change… after all they were rich, well fed, popular with their friends, and more. They thought they had it made… yet, they missed the most important relationship of all… having Jesus as Savior and Friend. Jesus reminds us that we need to be careful when all people started to speak well of us… that means that we are not saying anything that causes them to change. We are watering down the message if we don’t get people to see the need to repent and to change. We need to share the whole Gospel. It must include repentance from sin. It must make people uncomfortable with their sinful lives… OR they will see no need to change…and no need for a Savior. Give them the full message from Jesus… repentance and forgiveness!

Please send along this message to friends who think they have it all in life. Ask them to name one thing that they expect to last the longest in their lives. Ask what they expect will last beyond this life. Listen to how they answer. We all need to be careful not to be too comfortable in this life… that we take our eyes off Jesus and we begin to think that we have made it in life. We owe it all to Jesus. We are stewards of all that He gives to us. We may use it to His glory, but in the end, we will leave it all behind. There are no U-Hauls attached to the hearse. Live for Him! Then, Take Time For God’s Word© each day or as you read reports about the super rich or at 6:26 am or pm. Set this a Reminder on your phone for 6:26 am. Copy the verse into the title. When it rings in the morning, be reminded that we do NOT seek the praise and acceptance of the world. We seek to do His will and to walk in His ways each day. We will find resistance and rejection because we follow Jesus. Others will think that we are trying to show that we are better than they are… just the opposite… we KNOW that we are sinners. We need a Savior. Jesus rescued us. He can rescue them as well. Share that Good News and walk humbly with Him each day!

Our prayers continue for all the leaders and staff at various schools around the country. Pray for administrators to lead and decide the best ways to continue education for our students in this unprecedented pandemic crisis. Pray for all those that are out of work until the schools re-open. With dates changing and uncertainty about the ongoing spread of the virus, we need to keep others in our prayers. AND, wherever possible, we need to reach out to help them in any way that we can. May our hearts be open to His leading in ways to build up each other in hope and through acts of love and kindness. You may be the answer to someone’s prayers… be a blessing to them. Pass it on to others in your words, in your actions, and through a life well lived for the cause of Christ!
