Be blessed when you are hated…

6:22 Luke “Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.” (NIV)

Jesus knew that His message would not be welcomed by everyone. He knew it meant change. He knew that those with power… with money… with possessions… would have problems with what He offered. They thought they had ‘it’ all, yet they focused on the temporary… not the eternal. When you have Jesus, you have everything worth having. Some will fault you for that. They will say that you are not ‘inclusive’ enough. Actually, we want ALL to be saved… but you need to give up trying to make it on your own… you need to accept Jesus. Keep sharing the Good News amid a world of bad news messages and attitudes. Be blessed!!

Please offer this message to those who need the message of Easter in their lives this week. Ask them to name the most despised group in our world. Ask them to name the most respected group of people in this world. Listen carefully to their answers. Just one month ago it may have been ISIS and our military (as the hated/ loved groups). Today, it may be people 'NOT social distancing’/ medical personnel (as the hated/ loved groups). How quickly things change. Yet, God’s love does not change… it is the same now and forever. Please Take Time For God’s Word© frequently each day or as you see people NOT ‘social distancing’ or at 6:22 am or pm. It seems to me that as officials are encouraging ‘social distancing’ that they are making more references to ways that people can worship remotely this coming Easter. They know it is important to people. They seem to want to help people to keep their faith in these trying times. It seems that the ‘extra stuff’ of Easter (i.e. bunnies, egg hunts, fancy clothes, etc.) are not emphasized at all. Faith, family, prayer, and trust in God are the things being emphasized. Rightfully so! It was all about the resurrection and about Jesus rising so that we too will rise in the last day. At 6:22 pm each day… give Him thanks that His promises always come true. Share that great Good News!

We offer up prayers for all the teachers, aides, counselors, etc. from our various schools. So many are needing to switch from classroom teaching to online courses and assignments. Big change. No kids in classes. No interactions. Just LOTS of screen time. Pray that they can still have an impact on the students… to encourage… to support… to inspire… to challenge… and to help them to continue to learn in new ways and with new tools and techniques. Support them. Thank them. Let them know that you appreciate their extra efforts in difficult times. We THANK YOU if that is your role! Stay well. Stay inside. Stay blessed through it ALL! Pass it on to a world that does not welcome the love of Jesus because they would then need to admit their faults and failures… yet that is our only hope… in Jesus!
