We truly are VERY blessed!

6:20 Luke “Looking at his disciples, he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.” (NIV)

Crowds followed Jesus everywhere. He spoke to them. Sometimes in parables. Sometimes with stories. Sometimes very plainly. How could the poor be blessed? It seems they need so much… yet, if they have Jesus, they have everything worth having! Riches bring with it problems and MANY temptations. Being poor gives us time to focus on Jesus… He is THE priority. Make Him your priority now… in the midst of this pandemic crisis. He is our only hope for the world!

PLEASE give this verse to everyone you know who is impacted by COVID-19. Ask if it has impacted them financially. Ask if they can see a way to be made whole with their losses. This is scary for MANY of us. No job. No income. Bills still piling up. Food may be getting low. It makes us feel very poor. Yet, even then, we can have His peace and a place reserved in His kingdom. Show that you care! Always Take Time For God’s Word© each day or as you see people who appear poor or at 6:20 am or pm. How can the poor be the fortunate ones? Not by our standards… yet, definitely by God’s standards. They can have Him… and when you have Him, you have riches untold… and forever. Having stockpiles of money (or toilet paper) won’t matter if you die today. Having Jesus will matter… a lot!! Often, the poor know what priorities matter… family… friends… faith… serving… caring… honesty… and SO MUCH MORE. They still have temptations… just not with money. NOW, we can be there to help them… give food… donations… time… service… etc. We ALL have something to give to those in need… even if it is our prayers. Be blessed by sharing with them!

Each month we pray for our seminaries and places of training for our pastors, ministers, missionaries, and lay leaders. We have stated the great shortages of people entering the ministry… there are not enough to serve all the churches in need. Yet, we are seeing an unprecedented situation where most churches are closed due to COVID-19… even for Easter. There will still be church services and ALL are invited… instead of being invited into a church building… people are asked to invite those ministers into their homes…living rooms… kitchens … or on their phones through ‘streaming services’. He touches people wherever they are. Who knows but there will be increased attendance…. only God knows. SO, send an invitation… a ‘watch party’… a link… etc. to everyone you know to encourage them to ‘shelter-in-place’ BUT to have a place to experience some GOOD NEWS even as the coronavirus cases and deaths may still be rising. Encourage others. Be a blessing whenever you can be. Stay well as you stay in. Pass it on to those who are poor because they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior!
