Become His new creation!

5:38 Luke “No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.” (NIV)

Jesus responds to the religious leaders when they think that the disciples are not ‘religious enough’. Jesus reminds them that you do not take new cloth to patch old clothes… or you do not put new wine into old wineskins. Jesus is the fulfillment of the law… He is the one that sets us free… free from sin and death. We need to become the new creations that He has meant for us to be. We are to show His love to one another… and NOW is a great time for us to do just that!

Please remind friends and family that they are ‘new creations’ through Christ. Ask if they have ever really seen a wineskin. Ask if they have seen how stretched-out they became as the wine fermented. Take a few moments to imagine all the good things that you would do as a ‘new creation’ in Christ Jesus. Now, focus on doing those things to help others today. Take action to put into motion His love through your life. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© often today or as you see wine or wine commercials or at 5:38 am or pm. We most often help you associate ‘time’ with verse numbers. We also suggest that for some verses, that you associate them with a physical item or object. In this case, wine. As you see wine, recall this verse and how you have been made a new creation like a new wine. Each day is a new chance to live for Him and to let His love show through you. What a great privilege it is for us to live in such a way… living to serve others… living to help others to see Jesus… living to share the Good News. Make sure you are living as ‘new wine’… and NOT as ‘new whine’. People know the difference!

Our prayers go out to all the Christian colleges and universities around the country during these difficult times. Many have cancelled classes through the remainder of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been disruptive to completing their education. It has been devastating to college funds and fees. It creates great uncertainty on course completions and graduations. They still need our support. Let them know that you are praying for them. Pray that the students and faculty will use this opportunity to show Christian love in action as students returned home or to other places. We need to let the world see the difference that Christ can make in us. He gives us courage. He gives us purpose. He gives us hope. Be a blessing in this troubling time. Stay blessed in all that you do. Pass it on to all the sinners who still need the grace and mercy and love of God through Christ Jesus, our Lord.
