The healthy need no doctors!

5:31 Luke “Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” (NIV)

Doctors. Healthy. Sick. These are the headlines every day in our news since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Jesus used these to illustrate to the religious leaders the reason why Jesus associated with tax collectors and sinners. Levi was a tax collector until Jesus called him as a disciple. Like the others, he left everything to follow Jesus. It should give us great comfort to know that Jesus came for people like you and me. People who are sinners. People who needed forgiveness and healing. People who needed a Savior. But, now that we have Him, we must not take it for granted and we must know that our task is to share Him and His love with everyone that we meet… even at ‘social distancing’ times like these. Spread the Good News!

Please distribute this verse to any friends that are ‘sheltering in place’. Ask if they have seen a doctor recently. Ask if they went due to illness or for just a ‘social call’. We are living in some truly historic times. Cities are like ghost towns. Businesses are shut down in what was an exceptional economic time in the USA. Schools are empty. Churches are streaming services to their communities. All to prevent the spread of a virus and to allow the sick to be attended to by hospitals. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© throughout each day or as you see counts of the infected patients of the coronavirus or at 5:31 am or pm. Print out this verse card and post it on your mirror so that you see it often each day. Leave it posted until this COVID-19 pandemic is over. When it is over, you can take down the verse… yet, each time you look in the mirror you will imagine that verse card and verse. It will remind you of the pandemic AND the goodness and grace of God to see us through it. Continue to give Him your thanks and praise in advance for ALL that He will do.

Each month for nearly 5 years, we have lifted up in prayer ALL our hospitals, clinics, and facilities which provide such great care to the sick and those needing medical attention. With the COVID-19, everyone is seeing WHY we need to continue to PRAY for these organizations and people… they are everyday heroes with their service to us. Show your thanks. Let them know that you pray for them. Help their families while they are on the front lines of treating this virus. Be a blessing to them. Then, stay home to stay well. Stay blessed. Pass it on to those who need the spiritual healing and the hope that only Jesus can give… share the His Good News!
