Remember your baptism!

3:16 Luke “John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (NIV)

John the Baptizer wanted the people to understand that he was to prepare people for the Messiah who was to come. John’s baptism had its limitations. He could not forgive their sins… only God could do that. Yet, when the Messiah (Jesus) would come, He would pour out His Holy Spirit into the hearts and lives of His followers. When baptized with the Spirit, people would have a fire in the hearts to go and to share that Good News with others. Jesus fulfilled that promise. Are we doing our part in sharing the Gospel with those who have yet to hear it. Go…Tell…Share it!!

Please send this verse on to friends everywhere. Ask if their church services were held OR if they were ‘online streaming’ only. Ask how that made them feel to be separated from the body of believers. Pay attention to how they answer. Our church did ‘streaming only’ worship now and for a couple of weeks more. It was the same service format. It was the same great message. Yet, I missed being with other believers… singing… praying… worshipping together. We are the body of Christ… in one building or spread out across many buildings. Let us pray that we will be able to rejoin our church family soon to give Him thanks and praise. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© each day or as you see more COVID-19 news or at 3:16 am or pm. There are MANY 3:16 verses which are memorable, and which speak to our hearts. You may want to copy this verse into the Notes application on your phone. Label it as ‘3:16 Verses’. Then as you find more verses that are found throughout the Bible at 3:16, you can copy them into one place. You can then review them and let them speak to your heart and to those closest to you. You will be blessed by them… beginning with John 3:16 and Luke 3:16!

We continue to pray for the many Christian led causes and organizations which touch our lives and the lives of millions around the world. We pray for the We Raise Foundation (Itasca, IL) for their efforts to help new groups and Christian causes get started and to become successful in sharing the Good News. They mentor. They train. They support. They guide. They work to enable these startups to focus on their mission and to learn how to be successful in their service to others. Help support them if you can. Encourage those organizations in your communities. Volunteer if you are able. We ALL have certain skills that Christ can use… just be available to go where He sends you. Stay blessed to be a great blessing to others. Pass it on with the power of the Holy Spirit and will a fire in your heart to seek and to share the love of Christ with the lost.
