The Good News brings great joy!

2:10 Luke “But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.“” (NIV)

It must have been quite a night. Angels appearing to the shepherds. Lots of angels singing praises to God. They spoke to the shepherds and invited them to see this newborn king. Not in a palace but in a stable. The shepherds felt right at home there. Jesus still wants us to feel ‘at home’ and welcomed by Him. He is STILL the Good News. He STILL brings great joy to all who believe. It is STILL a message that the world needs to hear. Tell it often… with excitement. Don’t be afraid… time is running short… He will return again… soon!

Please provide this brief verse to ALL of your friends on social media. Ask if they can recall the last ‘good news’ that they heard. Ask if it was so good that they felt they had to tell someone else. Let them know that is how we feel about the Gospel message about Jesus. It is just too good to keep to ourselves. We want others to hear it. We want others to know Him. We want others to receive the same forgiveness that we have received. No one should miss out on this experience. So, tell everyone you know! And, Take Time For God’s Word© often during the day or as you hear some good news or at 2:10 am or pm. Add this as an Alarm on your phone at 2:10 pm with the title, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news…” Copy in the whole verse if you need to. Set the ring tone to “Joy to the World” or one of the other great Christmas carols. Others will ask why that tune is playing and you can share with them this verse… AND the rest of the Christmas Story and even the Easter message, because they asked. It will help you to re-set your perspective on the day. We often get bogged down by the immediate tasks and deadlines and we forget that we are part of an eternal kingdom. Keep your eyes upon Jesus. It puts other things into the proper perspective. Enjoy the great joy!!

Each month we pray for all of the adoption service organizations around the country. We pray for Evangelical Child and Family Services (Wheaton, IL) for their faithful efforts in serving families in the Midwest. They have helped countless families to become adoptive homes where infants are loved and cared for greatly. We have been blessed by them… what a privilege to be an adoptive family. Support them if you are able. Help others in your community. Encourage the adoptive families. Pray for those giving up their child for adoption. Bless those in such need. Pass it on to everyone that you meet by sharing great joy and the Good News that a Savior has come to bring them closer to God.
