Are you in the lions’ den?

6:16 Daniel “So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"“ (NIV)

King Darius was tricked into making a decree that would cause Daniel to break that new law. The king trusted Daniel but could not change his decree. Darius hoped that God could help Daniel. Daniel was thrown to the lions where they expected him to be torn apart and eaten. The king could not sleep that night. How about you? Does if feel like you are in the lions’ den sometimes? People are against you. You are singled out. You have done nothing wrong, yet they still want you to fail. Know that God is there with you… even in the lions’ den. He will protect you. Trust in Him!

Please give this verse to friends and family who face threatening times in life. Ask if they recall the story of Daniel in the Lions’ den. Ask if they can relate to that feeling even in their lives. Listen to their replies. Others wanted Daniel to fail. He was not negligent nor fraudulent in his work for the king. So, they had to accuse him of praying to God and not to the king. Would you be found faithful to God under that decree? Always Take Time For God’s Word© often daily or as you see pictures of lions and at 6:16 am or pm. If you are a morning person, recalling this verse a 6:16 am might be a great way to start a challenging day… asking that God would rescue you. Set an alarm. Copy in the verse. Let it remind you that God is there… even on your worst and most troubling days… to rescue YOU! That should be encouraging. It should help you to feel more bold. Trust in His unfailing love!

We offer our prayers to God in thanksgiving and in support of various large world mission driven organizations. We pray for World Vision (Federal Way, WA) and their focus on helping children in the poorest parts of the world to receive food, education, and the Word of God. We have sponsored two children through World Vision for many years. We enjoy seeing their progress. We enjoy keeping them in our prayers. It is a small thing for us, but a BIG thing in the lives of those children. Support them if your can. Help in other ways where you are able. Be a blessing in serving Him. Pass it on to everyone who needs the love of God to help them face their own lions’ den of problems.
