When would you deny Jesus?

14:30 Mark. "Truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "today--yes, tonight--before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times." (NIV)

Peter made a bold statement. The other disciples also said they would stand firm with Jesus. They failed. Peter failed 3 times. They tried to be strong in their own strength. They could not. We cannot. We need His strong support to help us to stand. Even if you have never verbally denied knowing Jesus, we often do not speak up and speak out for Him when we should. We still have fear. Ask that He help us to be bold in our witness to others and to stand firm in the faith… no matter what may happen. God is with us ALWAYS!

Please route this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask if they have ever been challenged to deny knowing Jesus. Ask the circumstances and what they did to overcome it. Pay attention to their answers. While Peter verbally denied Jesus, the others just faded into the crowds or went away fearful for their lives. How would you have responded? We like to think we are strong… yet, we can only be strong when we rely on God to give us that strength. Stand firm today. Be bold in your witness to the Gospel. Speak up as a friend of Jesus. Then, Take Time For God’s Word© day and night, or as you see an image of a rooster and at 14:30 (2:30 pm). Sometimes we need examples to help us shape our behavior… even if they are good bad-examples. That would be Peter… in this situation. He was bold. He was rough. He was outspoken. Yet, he could also be fearful and deny Jesus. We know that he was later restored and forgiven. He went on to do great things for the cause of Christ. Momentary failures do not need to cause long term failure in living our best lives in and through Him. Speak His name with confidence.

We remember in our prayers all the Alzheimer’s and hospice patients and their families. We pray for all the facilities and groups that care for these people in special times in their lives. It is SO HARD for us to see loved ones in these facilities. We wish we could do more. We pray for healing. We pray for more time with them. Yet, we also know that God may have other plans for them. We need to let God be God. Trust His plans. Enjoy time with those loved ones. Let them know you love them… say it often. Be there for them… as a blessing to them. Pass it on to the staff and caregivers to let them see the love of Christ working in and through you.
