Do you give from the heart?

12:43 Mark “Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.” “ (NIV)

As Jesus and the disciples were in the temple, they saw people putting money into the temple offering. Some gave large amounts… so everyone could see them. A poor widow dropped in a few coins equal to a few cents. Jesus noticed. It was not the amount… but what it represented. It was all that she had… therefore it was of great value and she gave it all to God. The Bible talks a lot about money and giving. For many people, money becomes their god…that is all they think about and what the love the most. God wants us to be good stewards of ALL that He gives to us… not just money. So, be generous in giving and in living for Him! We came into this world with nothing and we will leave it the same way… except for the saving grace and gift of salvation which none can take away!

Please forward this verse to friends… rich or poor. Ask if they were to give back to God what He had blessed them with… what percent would that be. Ask if they give now, and what percent would that be. See how they answer (or if they are able to answer.) For most of us, we seem to be more generous with money that we don’t have than we are with the money that we do have. It is all a matter of the heart… and trust in God. Even though our money may say, “In God We Trust”, it seems that we don’t trust in Him enough. Always Take Time For God’s Word© each day or as you see any coins and at 12:43 am or pm. If you can, print out this verse card about the size of a business card and put it in your wallet or purse with your cash (if you still carry any) or with your credit cards. When you reach for your money, you will see this verse. It will serve as a reminder about how we spend the money that we have been given. For me, I get some spending cash at the beginning of each month. I use it where needed throughout that month. At the end, I donate the remaining cash to new charities that give out Bibles, food, medicines, etc. as God met all my needs and I had more than enough. I am delighted to bless others just as I had been blessed. Continue to be good stewards of ALL that He gives to you.

We offer up special prayers for all those women and men who are in prisons around the country. We also pray for their families, for the guards and staff at the prisons, and for the families of the victims of those who are serving time for those crimes. There are several prison ministries that seek to bring the Good News to those serving out their sentences. Support them. Help where you can. Help those who are paroled to re-enter society and to avoid going back to their old ways. Be that blessing to those in need. Pass it on to ALL who need the love of God and the forgiveness that Jesus came to give for them!
