Let the Hosannas be shouted…

11:09 Mark “Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"“ (NIV)

In the book of Mark, we are already at Jesus entry into Jerusalem on the day we now call Palm Sunday. It would be a historic week. History was changed because of it. Our lives would be set free by what He did during that one week. As we are entering the New Year, we often forget how much can be done in just a single week. What great things are you called to do during 2020? What acts of kindness will you show? What areas will find you giving generously to important causes? It will happen… it won’t take long… it will have an impact into eternity. Be one who brings the name of the Lord to be shared with friends. Be light throughout 2020!

Please pass along this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask them what memory from 2019 is their favorite. Ask them what memory from 2019 was the most painful. Pay attention to how they respond. While our lives are measured in days and years, our life is really a series of moments that are impactful to you and to others. These may last seconds or even minutes… but those are the ones that you remember. Those are the ones that you savor or regret. You will never regret the time you spend in God’s Word and in prayer. Grow in faith each day in the new year. Always Take Time For God’s Word© during each day and as you see 11:09 am or pm then be reminded of this verse and the great Hosannas on Palm Sunday. I would encourage you to begin the habit of setting up Reminders on your phone for some key verses. Just copy in the verse and its location (11:09 Mark) and set the Reminder to trigger at 11:09am on Thursdays. When it rings, you will glance at it. You can then repeat the verse and consider all the blessings that you have received through the love and life of Christ. It is good to be reminded of the wonders that we have received through Jesus. It puts other things in perspective. It causes us to be grateful for our blessings. It makes us want to share the love with others. It is a moment that may make that day or week be brighter. His Word has that effect. It changes the world!

We continue our prayers into the New Year for all the refugee organizations and support personnel around the world caring for the needs of those displaced by wars and persecution. It is hard to believe that in 2020 that there are millions upon millions of people who are refugees running to save their lives. We pray for Exodus World Services (Park Ridge, IL) and their care and compassion to help get refugee families resettled into communities where they can begin new lives. Exodus works with local churches to find support and volunteers to help make these refugees feel welcome and gives them support to help them become self sustaining members of our society and country. Support them. Encourage them. Be a volunteer if God places that upon your heart. You will be blessed in doing that. Stay blessed in ALL that He has planned for you in 2020. Pass it on to those around you by living the love that He has given to you… you will create moments that will last into eternity.
