Be ready to serve Him in 2020…

10:45 Mark “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.“ (NIV)

Now it is the disciples James and John…brothers who ask Jesus to sit at His right and left hand in glory. They STILL do not get it. They are seeking individual honor and power. They still see things from a personal perspective… not from God’s point of view. As a result, Jesus again states that those who want to be first will not succeed. Only those who become servants to others will be honored in the kingdom of God. Jesus told them of the coming days and His resulting death. They could not understand it. Just like us, they needed reminders. Be reminded to serve one another!

Please also route this verse and message to all your friends…everywhere. Ask if they have set any new goals that they want to accomplish in 2020. Ask if any of them have set the goal to be a great servant to many others. (Not likely). Tell them about the role that Jesus took on in coming to live and to die to take away our sins… ALL of them. He asks us to be His servants to help others here and now. He has a place for us with Him when we die. That is our highest goal. Always Take Time For God’s Word© each day and as you see people serving others or at 10:45 am or pm. Then, recall this verse and the sacrifice on the cross. With the new year (and new decade) just hours away, it will be a time for many new things in your life. If you can, make a couple of simple changes to help bring His Word closer to you each day. 1) When you check the time… try to recall a Bible verse (any favorite verse), 2) Then, in a few days, try to recall at least one verse for each hour (12 verses, for now). 3) Repeat the verse for the hour (e.g. 3:16 would be John 3:16; then 10:10 would be John 10:10; and 7:07 would be Matthew 7:07). That’s it. Three simple things. It will make memorable verses become UNFORGETTABLE. You will be blessed in remembering the verses and in spending time in His Word. Continue your personal Bible Study and prayer times… you will grow deeper in faith and more confident in knowing His Word.

Please continue to pray for foster care programs and organizations that provide and promote Foster Care in your communities. There are thousands of kids waiting for placement in foster families. Some have been waiting a long time. Their one hope in the new year is to be part of a family. They want to feel loved. They want to be included. Do what you can to help these kids. It will be a double-blessing… for them and for you! Stay blessed in the coming year! Pass it on through great service to others and by showing His love to ALL those that you meet! Have an excellent 2020… and beyond!!
