Can you be too rich…YES!

10:25 Mark “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.“ (NIV)

The rich young man from verse 10:21 went away sad because he had great wealth. Jesus tells the disciples that it is very hard for a rich man to enter heaven. It is all about priorities. If money is the top priority, then trusting Jesus in ALL things becomes a great challenge. It means putting Jesus above the riches… for many, that is too hard for them to accept that. I know a few people who seem to be rich as they give very generously and have a great time doing that. Who would have thought that so many of us would be blessed NOT to have the problem of riches… good thing, too! Now we can always keep God as our priority because we depend upon Him… and that is a great thing to do!!

Please send along this verse to all your friends… rich and poor alike. Ask how much money it would take for them to feel ‘rich’. Ask what they would do if they had that amount of money right now. Pay attention to their answers. Let them know that money is talked about frequently in the Bible because it is so tempting and distracting to many people. And the Bible talks about the ‘love of money’ as being the problem and not the money itself. When you have a great joy in giving, you are rich (in spirit) regardless of how much money you may have. Give and live generously. Then remember to Take Time For God’s Word© throughout each day and as you check your bank balance or at 10:25 am or pm. As you see the amount in your accounts pause and give thanks for whatever you have…and recall that we are all stewards of what God has given to us. Save this verse card on your phone in Photos. Take a minute to review all the verse cards that you have saved. They are great reminders of the messages that God has given to us. Send them on to others. Ask if they had heard the verse before. See what their response is. They help to open-up conversations… talks which just may have eternal consequences. Be rich in sharing His love… the more you share it the more it grows. It is an investment which lasts forever!

Our prayers extend to all the teachers, aides, social workers, etc. at all levels in our schools. While most are on a break at the end of the year, they will return shortly to finish out another school year in 2020. They have such a great influence upon our children and grandchildren. Their enthusiasm, patience, care, compassion, and support translate into kids who are having a great time learning and wanting to learn more. Let the teachers know that you appreciate them and their efforts. If you are (or were) a teacher as a part of your career, THANK YOU!! I know you did not hear that often enough. Let us all take the extra time to tell the teachers now and to encourage them in their teaching. Be that kind of wonderful blessing to them. Pass it on to those who may be rich in cash but poor in spirit… help them to see the gift of life that Jesus came to give to them.
