Against us OR For us?

9:40 Mark “for whoever is not against us is for us." (NIV)

The disciples saw others cast out demons in the name of Jesus. They thought that was their job…exclusively. Jesus reminded them (and us) of our verse, “for whoever is not against us is for us.” (NIV) He reminds us that there really are only two choices… no neutral zone… no sitting on the sidelines… no time for indecision… there is only ‘for us’ OR ‘against us’ in following Jesus. So, cheer on your fellow Christians. Encourage those who are new in faith. Share with those who are established in the faith. Choose to be on the side of Christ. The victory over sin and death has been won!

Copy this link to mention this verse to those who may need to hear it. Ask if they recall ‘choosing sides’ in elementary school and if they were ever picked last. Ask how that made them feel or how others felt when they were the last one chosen. Many people think that faith in Jesus is optional… a nice to have… but not critical. They are wrong! By not making a choice to follow, they have become against us. No wonder Jesus encourages us to love our enemies… they just need to make a better choice. You can help them. Keep sharing His love. It is their only hope. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© daily and whenever you see people taking sides (which may be often) or at 9:40 am or pm as you ponder this verse and being on the side of Christ. This verse is only 9 words long… 4 two-letter words…3 three-letter words…2 seven letter words. Re-read it 3 times and you will likely know it for life…now, we need to recall it often and use it to motivate us in sharing our faith. If you saw it on a license plate it may say: 4USNT4US (For Us, Not For Us). We need to spend time helping the Not-For-Us group to see the love of Christ. Help them join the 4US4EVR (For Us Forever) group… it will be out-of-this-world…really!

We pray each month for the hospitals and clinics with their staff and patients. We see in the Gospels the great number of people who came to Jesus for healing. We know friends and family who may be in the hospital even now. Pray with them and for them. They need your support and your prayers. Thank those who are caring for them. Let them know that you pray for them. Many are Christians and seek the Lord’s help in their care practices. Encourage them in the faith. Stay blessed. Be a blessing. Pass it on to those who are not (yet) for us… and for following Jesus every day.
