Are you a ‘servant leader’?

9:35 Mark “Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all." " (NIV)

We hear a lot about ‘greatness’. We hear the term GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) in many sports, businesses, movies, etc. The world defines it to be the one with the most or best things… Jesus says that those won’t last. When the disciples were arguing about who would be the greatest among them in the kingdom of God, Jesus knew that He needed to change their thinking completely. He does that to us as well. So, today… and every day… think about how you can be a servant to others to meet their needs. In the process, you will show kindness and humility. Those are just the qualities that He is looking for in His followers. So, lead the way in being at the back-of-the-pack encouraging others to meet Jesus!

Please deliver this verse to those who may need to rethink ‘greatness’ in their lives. Ask if they were to be known for greatness, what area would they choose for such greatness. Ask why that would be so important in their life. Let them know how God measures greatness in your life. Share with them examples of who God chose for great leadership roles in the Bible. Let them know that He can use them in some areas or places that need their passion and their commitment. Always Take Time For God’s Word© daily as you hear people describing greatness or at 9:35 am or pm as you consider this verse and see opportunities to serve others. Please take a moment to print this… as an 8X10 photo. I know those don’t easily fit in your pocket or purse, but they look great under a magnet on the refrigerator or on a bulletin board. This way, it will be big enough to get your attention whenever you walk past. That’s what God wants from us… our attention. He wants us to see ALL that He has planned for us. We miss SO MANY blessings each day because we are too busy to seek His guidance. Take a pause. Recall His Word. Ask how He can use you. Then be open to opportunities that He puts in front of you. Be a servant… and be great at it!

We pray each month for all the nursing homes and assisted living centers with their residents and staff. They offer help and support to those who may not be able to live independently at this stage of life. While there are lots of people there, it is still a place of loneliness for many. So, remember them… calls, cards, letters, visits… anything that shows they are NOT forgotten. Maybe you take an hour out of your busy day to stop by…chat…share memories… make new memories… just be there for them. You will be a blessing… you will get a blessing from being there. Do that. THANK YOU! Pass it on by helping others to get ahead and you will be surprised at where true greatness is found! Stay blessed!
