Our verse from yesterday was 9:23 which ended with, “…Everything is possible for one who believes.” (NIV) Here, the father wants to believe Jesus… he desperately wants his son to be healed. The father even asks Jesus to help his unbelief. Good News! He can help our unbelief as well. Even when our faith is strong… there can be doubts about us, our actions, our motives, and even whether God would do this… this miracle for us. We can have faith that God will act. He will do what is best for our overall spiritual well-being. Now that is a BLESSING!!
Continue to route this verse to family and friends who may need to have a ‘faith-lift’. Ask how often they trust God with the intimate details of their lives. Ask how often the ask God for help only when the problem is too big or too scary for them. Remind them that God wants to be part of ALL areas of their lives. He wants to lead them in times of difficulty for sure, but also through times of everyday activities. He is always just a short prayer away. Let them know that you pray for them and that their faith would be strengthened. Remember to Take Time For God’s Word© throughout each day as you feel moments of unbelief or at 9:24 am or pm as you think of this verse and the father’s plea to Jesus. This is a verse to setup as a Reminder on your phone. Set it for 9:24am with the words, “…I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” When you see it pop up on your phone, it will help to reinforce what you do believe. It will keep you close to God and His Word to help overcome any areas where your faith needs to grow and become stronger. Grow beyond your unbelief. Be bold in your faith… God is in control!
Each month we lift up in prayer all the Sunday School teachers and helpers in our churches and fellowship groups. I can still recall the many teachers that I had even after 50+ years. They helped me so much. They made the Bible stories come alive. They taught me verses that I still think about and which still bless me even now. Thank them. Support them. Volunteer to help if you can. Be that blessing to them as they devote their time and energy to blessing others. Pass it on to those who may have unbelief but who want to believe… help to show them the love of Jesus!
