God said, ‘Listen to Him!’

9:07 Mark “Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!"" (NIV)

This is about the transfiguration of Christ. It is about God stating, “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!” It is STILL about God telling us… Listen to Him! We tend to hear all the other sounds, music, noise, voices, etc. and then we can’t distinguish the still small voice of Jesus calling gently to us. OR, we hear His voice, but we manage to tune it out because what He tells us sounds hard. It is… if we were to do it on our own, BUT He is right there with us. With Him all things are possible. So, as you are beginning to think about 2020 and the next decade, listen to His voice and what He has planned for you in the days and years to come. It will be AWESOME!!

Please send along this verse to those friends on social media. Ask if they heard a voice from the sky, how would they react. Ask if they can pick out the voice of a loved one even when others are speaking. Let them know that is what we should be doing… listening for the voice of Jesus speaking to our hearts. Then, we also need to follow what He tells us to do. Let them know that you pray for them. They need to know that you care deeply for them. Always Take Time For God’s Word© each day as you hear people say the word ‘love’ or at 9:07 am or pm as you recall this verse and the voice from heaven. You may want to print out this verse card to carry in your pocket or purse. As you see it, be reminded to listen to the voice of God. Listen with your heart. Let Him direct you to help others. Let His loving hand guide you as you share that love with family and friends. It is amazing how much we miss in life because we weren’t listening… don’t let that happen to you. Enjoy every blessing that God has planned for you by listening to His voice and by following His plan for you. Are you listening?

Our prayers now are for missionaries that you know personally and by name. They may be serving around the world or around the block. The mission fields are all around us. Some of us have even commented that God is bringing people to our neighborhoods so that each of us can be missionaries to them. Don’t miss that opportunity. For friends on the mission field, send them a letter, card, email, text, call them, Skype them, etc. just let them know that you are praying for them. They need to know that. Be that blessing to them this Christmas. Pass it on to all those who may not yet be listening to the voice of Jesus calling to them.
