Your soul is of great value!

8:36 Mark “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" (NIV)

Jesus knows our hearts. He knows our desires. He knows our thoughts. He knows how little it takes for someone to be tempted and to turn from Him. Jesus tells us the great value we should place on our souls AND the incredible price the He paid to save those souls. Don’t let the world take your eyes off the cross of Christ. That is our ONLY hope for salvation. There is no other way!

Please send this verse on to any and all friends on social media and your email list. Ask if they could put a value on their souls…how much would it be. Ask if they know people who have won the world but lost their faith in the process. Share with them the incredible love of Christ to pay the price on the cross for their sins. He took their place. He wants their souls to be saved. Point them to Jesus. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© throughout your day as you see the world’s temptations or at 8:36 am or pm as you recall this verse and the question from Jesus. Here’s the recap of Mark 8:33-36. Copy and paste it into a Note or Reminder on your phone. Read it often. Remember it daily. You will be blessed to know this in your heart: “But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. "Get behind me, Satan!" he said. "You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns. Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” (NIV)

Our prayers continue for all of the disaster relief organizations like the Red Cross (Washington, DC) that work tirelessly to ease the sufferings of those experiencing a crisis in their lives. These volunteers are first to arrive and are often the last to leave. They know how to respond in these devastating circumstances. They give comfort and hope when the times seem hopeless. Support them. Encourage others to support them. Be that kind of blessing in your community. Pass it on to people who made the wrong choices and have yet to meet Jesus as Savior and friend.
