Lose your life to save it!

8:35 Mark “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it." (NIV)

Jesus knew that His time with the disciples was coming to an end. He wanted them to know what it would take to continue to follow Him. He spoke clearly. It was a choice… it still is. We too need to decide if we are standing with Jesus OR not. We know ALL the benefits… both now and in the future. It seems like everyone would want that…yet, we know they still have not accepted Him as Savior and friend. Keep sharing the Gospel. It is still their only hope!

Please plan to pass along this verse to family, friends, and neighbors. Ask if they understand the comparison…save your life/ you lose it… lose your life (for Jesus)/ He will save it (forever). Ask what would stop them (or anyone) from wanting to follow Him now. We often forget that many people have no real knowledge of Jesus, the Bible, church, etc. It is all foreign to them. We need to show them what we mean. We need to be patient with them. Keep sharing. Always Take Time For God’s Word© each day as you see people lose things or at 8:35 am or pm as you think of this verse and the explanation of Jesus. As you have noticed, there are several verses in this part of Mark with are key messages in the Gospel. You may want to copy them into a single reminder so that you see them together. We will have one more for tomorrow in 8:36 so you will want to keep 8:33-8:36 as a Reminder in your phone. It takes only a few seconds more to read them all at once. You will be blessed to see Jesus plea to His disciples (and to us) often. It will help also when you may want to share it with others. Be blessed in knowing this part of the Gospel.

We continue to pray for the police, fire fighters, emergency response, etc. individuals for their dedication and responsiveness to the needs in our communities. When you call… they respond. They make sure you are safe. They risk their lives to keep you safe. Tell them you appreciate their service. Let them know that you pray for them. Support their families, too. Be His love to them and be a blessing when they need it. Pass it on to those who are searching for a Savior and for those who NEED to be searching for Jesus.
