Do His miracles scare you?

6:50 Mark “because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."" (NIV)

The disciples head across the lake in a boat. The winds pick up. They are straining to make progress. Jesus sees their need and goes to them… walking on the water. When they see Him, they are terrified as if seeing a ghost. He speaks to try to calm them. That happens...to us. We see Jesus only in one way or one setting. Then we see His mighty power at work in others and we are afraid. We need to trust Him more. We need to thank Him for ALL that He can do beyond what we can grasp or imagine!!

Ask what they would have asked after He stepped into the boat with them. Remind them that we sometimes put Jesus into a limited space because that is the only way that we can see Him. We need to remove the boundaries that we place on Christ and His love… then watch in awe as He does what only He can do. Amazing! Please Take Time For God’s Word© during each day as you see Him do great things or at 6:50 am or pm as you think of this verse and Jesus walking on the water. You may want to print out this verse card (and a few extras) to carry with you and to look at periodically each day. It tells us to ‘Take courage!’… we need that because we are often timid or afraid to try new things. He is with us… always. As a result, we NEVER need to be afraid, again. If He is with us, what can anyone do against us. Trust in Him. Know that He is always there working in and through you!

We pray for all the youth outreach missions and ministries within our churches and fellowship groups. We see a number of youth groups take up donations of toys or winter clothes or food to help others at this time of year. It is so encouraging to see them looking beyond their own needs and wants and caring for those less fortunate in their neighborhoods or communities. Encourage them. Support them where you can. Let them know that you appreciate their actions. They are the next generation of Christians and citizens… we want them to have giving and forgiving hearts. Stay blessed. Pass it on by telling others to ‘Take Courage’ and ‘Don’t be afraid’… Jesus will be with them.
