It’s a miracle…now, who do you tell?

5:20 Mark “So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” (NIV)

In Mark chapter 5 is an account of Jesus casting out demons from one tormented man into a herd of pigs. The pigs then rushed into the water and all drowned. Jesus sent the man back to his town and region. There were 10 towns in that region. The man went to all of them. He shared what Jesus had done for him. He couldn’t stop talking about the miracle of Jesus in getting him free from the demons which had controlled him for so long. So, who have you told about how Jesus set you free? It is your story. Others need to hear it. Keep telling it. People will ALWAYS need to hear the Good News!

You can extend this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask if they had something special happen to them and they just needed to tell LOTS of others about it. Ask if they ever got tired of sharing that amazing story or event with those who had not heard it yet. Let them know that is how it should be with sharing the love of Jesus with others. It is a story that never gets old… it is always new… it is always true… it is always meaningful and SO important to share. If you listen to what they are talking about, you will likely find a way to share some Good News related to that. Keep trying. We don’t want anyone to miss out on this amazing story. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© frequently each day and as you hear people tell their stories, or at 5:20 pm as you may recall this verse and the miracles of Jesus. This account of Jesus casting out demons is short but very descriptive. As a result, you can re-tell it without knowing it word-for-word. Are you descriptive and excited when you share your story about knowing Jesus? If you aren’t enthusiastic about Him, it is hard to get others excited to see what a difference He can make in their lives, too. That is why it is SO good to have various verses or parables or stories to share so that you can be excited to tell them. Every day is new and fresh. Give Him thanks for each one of them AND for the opportunities to share His love with others. Now that is exciting!!

We remember in our prayers all the thousands upon thousands of people who have been displaced and impacted by the many weather-related events… hurricanes, fires, floods, snows, rains, earthquakes, etc. Many are still rebuilding from such disasters two, three, or four years ago. They will be reminded of it for the rest of their lives. Continue to help where you can. Partner with other churches in those areas to provide more long-term support. Be an ongoing blessing to them. Pass it on with the same zeal and passion as the man whom Jesus touched and healed so many years ago.
