So, what is your story?

4:34 Mark “He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.” (ESV)

Jesus spoke to the crowds using parables or stories which they could understand. They were short… relevant… authentic… memorable… and they had deep meaning. When you share your story about coming to know Jesus, does it meet those criteria? People will remember you by the story that you share. It is more than words. It is deep feelings. It is disappointments and despair. It is redemption and forgiveness. It is acceptance and salvation. Don’t water it down. It is a story that others may relate to as well. It is how they know that Jesus is real in your life because of your real-life story. Then, know that Jesus teaches us further and deeper as we dwell on His Word and as we share it with others. Keep growing in faith and keep adding to your story… it will be beyond your imagination.

Please tell this verse to anyone who needs to hear it. Ask if they can think of a parable that they have learned. Ask if they also learned the meaning behind the parable. Adapt your response depending on their answers. Have one of your favorites ready to share if they can’t think of one. It may be The Good Samaritan or The Lost Sheep. Take a moment to give the meaning behind the parable and why that is important in your life. Let them know about Jesus and the Good News. Continue to tell the story… because it is all true. Then, Take Time For God’s Word© at various times each day and as you hear someone sharing a story, or at 4:34 pm as you recall this verse and the parables from Jesus. These daily verses are meant to be short reminders that may impact your day and your life. These are NOT meant to replace daily Bible study time or time spent in prayer. These are for BUSY people who often get so busy that they don’t have time for God during their day. We ALL have the same 24 hours… and we all have time to spend a few moments throughout the day recalling the goodness of God and by giving Him our thanks and praise. We pray that this becomes a habit… checking the time… remembering a verse. It is simple… just like a parable… yet it can help you grow deeper in faith. That is our prayer for YOU! Stay blessed!

We pray each month for our Christian colleges and universities around the country and around the world. Our prayers are that the name of Jesus will be proclaimed there amid all the other studies and courses. We want our young people to know that He is a part of our lives each day. We want them to feel empowered to share Him with others. We want them to deepen their faith for the challenges of life ahead of them. Encourage the students and faculty at these institutions. Support them. Be a blessing to them. Pass it on through engaging parables which lead to deeper discussions about the love of Christ and the hope we have in Him.
