Pray for unity at home…

3:25 Mark “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.“ (NIV)

Jesus talked about kingdoms and countries… now He talks to us about home and families. He stresses that we must have a unity in our spirit. He wants us to have peace and harmony in our homes. With such love and lots of prayer, those families can withstand any trials or problems which may come their way. Today, make it a point to say “I love you!” to each of your family members (and extended family, too). Let His love work through you to bring unity of spirit to all whom you love.

Ask if they recall hearing this verse in school (i.e. President Lincoln used it to address the country divided over the issue of slavery). Ask if they feel that your house is divided. Listen patiently to how they answer. We are NOT always perfect in our families and relationships. They take work. They take prayers (lots of prayers). They take love AND forgiveness. Keep working on it… it is key to your life and theirs. Invite God into that discussion. Then, <.b>Take Time For God’s Word© as you pray for your family or at 3:25 pm and then recall our verse and how Jesus wants love and unity among families. Families are complicated. So many pressures. So many expectations. So incredibly powerful when they work together in love. Let this verse encourage you to dedicate the time, love, prayers, and support needed to keep your family close… and close to God. Know that you are in the ‘family of God’ and that you are loved with an eternal love. Pass it on to your family.

Our prayers continue to go out to all the youth pastors and youth leaders in our churches and in our fellowship groups. They have a mission… to build up the next generation(s) of Christians. They depend on families and congregations to help them to succeed in that mission. It is vital to the ongoing ministries of our churches. Often, children who attend Sunday School or Vacation Bible school bring their siblings or parents, too. Support these efforts in your church body. Encourage young families to join the church. Be that blessing to them. Pass it on daily with love and prayers for your family and for your extended family members. Prayer works wonders!
