The kingdom of God is near…

1:15 Mark “The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" (NIV)

Jesus began His ministry in Galilee after He was tempted by the devil during His fasting in the desert. Jesus knew that His time on earth was limited. He knew that Satan would try to attack those around Jesus. He knew that every day was important. He knew that His message must get out to as many as possible. He now calls us to that same sense of urgency. “The time has come…” What are we waiting for? Let us continue to share the Good News now and always!

Copy this blog or the link to this post to proclaim this verse to all your friends on social media. Ask if they believe that the ‘time has come’… and what they feel we must do. Ask if they believe that people will change and will take actions that would make a difference. Now, listen to their answers… some may think ‘global warming’…pollution… political unrest… economic challenges…etc. Take a moment to tie in the kingdom of God and the changes that would bring if people really believed and acted accordingly. Share the Good News with your friends. Next, Take Time For God’s Word© as you check the time or at 1:15 pm, and recall this verse and our time of repentance. This is a verse that you can set as an Appointment in your calendar for Thursdays at 1:15pm with the title, “Mark 1:15 The time has come…” You can copy in the whole verse if you would rather. Then, when the Appointment pops up, recall this verse and our call to ‘repent and believe the Good News.’ If others ask what that appointment alarm was for, go ahead and tell them. Just another way to share the Good News with others.

Each month in our prayer cycle, we focus prayers for all our government leaders and elected officials. They definitely need our prayers. Remember them often in prayer. It has never been an easy job to be a public servant in office…yet, I don’t recall that it has ever been more difficult. Let them know that you pray for them. Do your part to be a good citizen. Stay blessed AND be a blessing to those around you. Pass it on knowing that the time is short and there are MANY who still do not know the Good News about Jesus Christ.

Just a note of thanks and praise for the life of Rev. Charles S. Muller, Sr. (Roselle, IL) who passed away on October 30, 2019. He was a great mentor and encourager to me. He was the inspiration to move forward with the ministry of "Take Time For God's Word". He was greatly loved, and He will be missed here on earth but there is rejoicing in heaven as He is welcomed home!
