Do you hear voices from heaven?…

1:11 Mark “And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." (NIV)

Like most of us, we have not yet heard the loud voice from heaven in our lives. That does not mean that God doesn’t speak to us… it only means that it does not come in the form of a thunderous and booming voice. He speaks to us in the quiet moments when we face difficult decisions. His voice calms us when we become afraid. His Words encourage us as we study the Bible. His wisdom often gets shared with us through our pastors and ministers from our churches and fellowship groups. The big question is… ‘Are we listening for His voice?’ Spend some quiet time in prayer today and see what God is saying to your heart and mind.

Please route this verse to the pastors and leaders of your church or fellowship group. Ask how members of the church are receiving words of encouragement throughout the week. Ask if sending along these daily verses would be helpful to keep God’s Word presented to them frequently. (And if you are already sending daily scripture passages or devotionals to your members… fantastic. We just want to make sure that fellow Christians are seeing God’s Word on a regular and consistent basis). Be an encouragement to them. We often only take problems and issues to our pastors… they understand that. Yet, let us lift them up in prayer and in sharing our thanks to them as well. Always Take Time For God’s Word© as you hear any loud voice or announcement or at 1:11 pm, and consider this verse and God’s love for His Son. This may be easier to recall because it is a repeating 1-1-1 number. You can remember that God is #1 in your life… or the 3-in-1 reference to the Trinity. So, any time you see a repeating 1-1-1, you can associate it with Mark repeating what God said about Jesus after His baptism by John. There are lots of ways to anchor or recall verses. Pick the one(s) that make it meaningful (and frequent) for you to recall the verse. Stay blessed in knowing His Word and in using it daily.

Let us focus our prayers today on our family and our friends. Sometimes, we forget the ones closest to us… we just assume that they are OK as we get caught up in other issues or challenges. Really focus on them today. Let them know that you are praying for them. Make sure that you are current on what is happening in their lives. Take the time to listen… really listen to what they are saying. God has given us very special people who we need in our lives…and they need us to be there for them as well. Tell them how much you love them. Show it to them in some small act of kindness or service. It will mean a lot to them… and to you. Stay connected. Be a blessing to them as they are often a greater blessing to you. Pass it on by sharing and saying your love and your approval to those closest to you.
