Do what you are called upon to do…

1:03 Mark “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'" (NIV)

Mark makes the immediate introduction of John the Baptizer and the role which he was to play in preparing for the coming of the Messiah… preparing for the coming of Christ. We are also often called to help prepare people to meet Christ. We do that through our kind words and loving actions. Do people see that in you? Do they know that you will be faithful to show them the love of Christ in ALL that you do? Let them see that each day.

Copy this blog or the link to this page to give this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask if they have ever been the frontrunner for others. Ask how that made them feel and act. Share with them the story of John the Baptizer. He came to point others to the Christ who would come after him. His was a simple message. It attracted people to go out to the desert to see and to hear what he had to say. Many were baptized. He knew his role and he performed it faithfully. Now, Take Time For God’s Word(c) whenever you hear people trying to prepare others or at 1:03 pm, and recall this verse and God’s plan for His Son. This may be a verse card that you want to print out and carry with you. When you see it, you will be reminded of John the Baptizer and his unusual ways. It will let you know that being different doesn’t need to detract from the message that you are called to share. It doesn’t need to slow you down. Speak out for Him anywhere and everywhere that you go.

Our prayers continue for our youth outreach ministries and mission projects. These opportunities take our youth into new situations and into acts of service. They see how others live and how much others need their help. They get to put their young faith into action. They see for themselves the power of sharing the love of Christ. It can be life changing for them. Encourage them. Support their fundraisers for next year’s trips. Help them to grow in their faith. Be that blessing to them. Pass it on to help prepare the way for the Lord’s message to bring Good News wherever it goes.
