Judge not…God does that well already!

4:12 James “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor?" (NIV)

Judging others… we do that truly without thinking. It may be their hair style or color. It may be their clothes…their style of speaking… their accent… or any number of subtle little traits that cause us to judge someone and to put them into a ‘bucket’ with others that we judged similarly. That is wrong… and we make wrong assumptions about that person. Let God be their judge. Let us go about showing His love and grace to everyone that we meet. They just may be another ‘forever friend’ that we should get to know now here on earth and in heaven eternally. Be a friend… not a judge.

We ask you to please give this verse to friends and family who may benefit from this verse. Ask if they judge people more by their clothes and appearances rather than their speech or actions. Ask why they do that and how that makes them feel when they actually get to know that person. Let them know that Jesus had the right to judge people He met during His ministry on earth. Yet, He chose to love them, heal them, feed them, minister to them, and inspire them. We should do the same. Don’t be a judge of others. Be a friend to all that you meet. Always Take Time For God’s Word© during each day or as you see 4:12 am/ pm, consider this verse and ask God to help you to not judge others. If you are like me, this verse deserves an Alarm on your phone at 4:12 pm with the title, ‘who are you to judge… 4:12 James’. We need to be startled to realize just how often we do judge other people. It may not be malicious or with any hatred… just our own self-satisfaction that we think we can ‘read’ people and know that these personal judgements can distract us from helping them or even trying to relate to them. May you seek to know and understand that person. Then, please show them how God, through Christ, is working in you.

We continue our prayers for this victims of extreme weather events… hurricanes, tornados, fires, floods and snows. Sometimes they hit all in one week…just in different parts of our country or hemisphere. Other times they may be on the other side of the globe. Their needs are still the same. We need to pray for those people like we would our own neighbors. That is what we are called to do. We never know who may be praying for us right now as well. We are connected through prayer to many others. Be that blessing. Share with them. Stay blessed and grateful wherever you are. Pass it on without judging… unless you are judging that NOW is a great time to share Jesus with them.
