Resist the devil and he will flee…

4:07 James “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (NIV)

4:4 makes a strong statement to lead into the message in this verse. It says, “…Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” (NIV) There are only two choices in reality. You can be a follower of God and reap His many blessings, OR you can follow the world and reap its MANY consequences. If join the side of God, He fights for you …and He NEVER loses. That is why the devil will flee from you because he knows who has you surrounded by His love. Most of us don’t feel that we are very powerful…yet that ALL changes when we submit ourselves to God. He is ALL powerful!

Please route this verse to friends and family. Ask if they feel that the devil is working in the world today. Ask if they have ever felt that God has them covered by His love and is defending them from the devil. Pay attention to how they respond. Remind them that the devil can make the world and its pleasures look pretty good. It can be tempting. So remember that he is the deceiver and the father of lies. Trust God to see you through it. Always, Take Time For God’s Word© to enjoy His protection from the devil and when you see 4:07 am/ pm, then think of this verse. If your house is like ours, the refrigerator is like a magnet to the family… meals… snacks… sodas… water…etc. It also holds LOTS of magnets from places we have visited on vacations. Those magnets hold up notes, calendars, photos, and key verses. That way whenever we visit the refrigerator (which seems to be often) we also get another reminder of some great family times and some awesome Bible verses. It is just another way to keep His Word close to you AND to your family and for friends who may visit. It is the ultimate message board.

Our prayers go out to all the Christian colleges and universities around the country. You may have a favorite. Maybe it is your alma mater. (We attended Waldorf (College) University, (Forest City, IA.) It was a great blessing to us.). Maybe your kids or grandkids go to one now. Remember them in your prayers. They continue to face challenges as our society becomes more and more liberal. Encourage them to stay true to the Bible and to the Gospel message. Let them know that you are praying for them. Support them if you are able. Stay blessed. Pass it on from a position of power and watch the devil flee from you because you are a child of God!
