Avoid selfish ambition and jealousy…

3:16 James “For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind." (NLT)

James gives us a quick lesson in human nature. It shows what happens when we fail to acknowledge God and to give Him the praise and glory that He deserves. Instead of God, we see what others have and we get jealous. We only want what serves our needs so selfish ambition sets in. When that happens it becomes every person for themselves and we have disorder. When we fail to seek God, then evil has free reign over us, and we get what we deserve. But that is NOT what God has planned for us. Seek Him. Serve Him. Honor Him. He gives us an abundant life. Try it!

Please send this verse along to friends and relatives everywhere. Ask if they see this same pattern in their work, school, or community. Ask how they feel when they see this unfolding in the lives of others around them. Share with them the Good News that it does not need to be this way. Let them know what things God has been doing in your life. Tell them about His love for them and the free gift of salvation to all who believe. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word© daily and at 3:16 am/ pm or whenever you see jealousy and selfish ambition, then think about this verse. This is another 3:16 verse. We all recall John 3:16 and there are many others worth remembering. This one is focused more on the consequences of sin. Whenever people reject God, disorder and evil of every kind enter into that situation and everyone suffers. Stay focused on His Word and His plans for you. The outcomes will be MUCH better!!

Please continue to pray for all the nursing homes and assisted living facilities around the country. As our population ages, these alternative housing options become even more critical to care for those who need help with their daily living activities. We have had various family members in these types of quarters in the past. They have been a blessing to our family member and to the rest of the family who could no longer care for that person in our homes. It is a tough decision. Yet, it is often the result of loving families wanting the best for their loved ones. Reach out to those who live there or who serve there. Be a blessing to them. Pass it on to people who are selfish and jealous AND who need to know the Savior to set them free.
