The law cannot save you!

2:10 James “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." (NIV)

James has several verses about how people are biased…they favor the rich over the poor. Yet, the poor have strong faith and the rich seem to have no time for (or need for) God. Then, he goes on to remind us that if we want to be judged under the law, we need to be able to keep perfectly the WHOLE law. We cannot do that. Which is to remind us why Jesus is the Good News. He took our sins upon himself. He wiped them all away. He gave us a clean slate. We are saved by His grace and mercy. Thank you, Lord!!

Copy this blog or send the link to this page to extend this verse to friends and family. Ask if they have perfectly kept the whole law. Ask if that is enough to think that they are bound for heaven. Let them know that the law only points out all the things that we do wrong. Tell them of the salvation through Jesus Christ. Let them that He is our ONLY hope to see heaven. Then, Take Time For God’s Word© during each day and at 2:10 am/ pm or as you hear about the law, then consider this verse and praise Him for His salvation. How good is ‘good enough’? Many people think that they are ‘good enough’ to make it into heaven. They forget that the entry to heaven is for the ‘perfect’… not for the ‘good enough’. So, none of us would get into heaven on our own. The only way… THE ONLY WAY is to claim to know Jesus who was perfect and who took away our sins so that we could be with Him. Set a Reminder for 2:10 pm to remind you that the law does not save you… only Jesus can do that! Let Him!

Our prayers continue for all of the police, firefighters, and emergency personnel who risk their lives each day to keep us safe and secure in our communities. They work to enforce the laws. They do so for our protection. They come to every call no matter what level the danger. They train to know what to do to help us when we cannot help ourselves. Thank them! Tell them how much you appreciate what they do. Let them know that you pray for them. Be that blessing to them. Pass it on by showing grace and mercy to others who have need of His love each day.
