God has given us the perfect gift…forever!

1:17 James “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (NIV)

Have you thought about the ‘perfect’ gift to give those on your Christmas list this year? We want it to show how much we love them. We want it to show their value to us. We want it to be something they will use often. We want it to be perfect…AND we get a gift receipt in case they want to exchange it. God did give us the perfect gift…His Son, Jesus. His gift fits each of us perfectly. It is something we can use everyday and we will definitely need it later. AND… it last forever! Yes, He has given us eternal life through His Son… claim it as your own. It will enrich your life and the lives of those around you...perfectly!

Copy this blog or the link to this verse and forward this verse to family and friends. Ask if they ever received the perfect gift (for them) for a birthday or for Christmas. Ask what it was and why they felt it was perfect. You can share from your own life something that you thought was perfect at the time. We ask questions and share our own stories to establish some common bonds… things that bring us closer. Often, that allows us to share even more personal and important information about what God has done and is doing in our lives now. Get to know them better. Let them know you pray for them. Tell them now much they are loved by God. Then, continue to Take Time For God’s Word© often each day and at 1:17 am/ pm or as you see gifts being given, then think about this verse and God’s perfect gift to us. This verse may be a good Reminder on your phone at 1:17 pm on a Sunday. Give it a title of ‘Every good and perfect gift… James 1:17’. When it rings, take a moment to reflect on ALL the great gifts that God has given to you. Remember the gift of His Son. Know that you have eternal life because of that great gift. If that doesn’t brighten every day then I do not know what else will. That is awesome! Only God could do that… and He did, just for you!

We ask for your prayers for all those people who are victims and survivors of extreme weather conditions or natural disasters. It may be from hurricanes, flooding, early winter snows, or other events. They need our prayers. They need our support and assistance. Volunteer if you can. Help where you can. Be a blessing to them as they are to others as well. We often forget that our blessings are given to us to be shared with those in need. Be kind and share them faithfully. Then, pass it on to others knowing that you are sharing the ‘perfect gift’ that they need now… and forever!
