Many years ago, one of my brother’s classmates had this as his motto, “I can resist anything… except temptation.” At the time, I thought it was very funny. I am a little wiser now and I understand a bit more about temptation and how deceptive it really is. We think we can handle it…but we really can’t. We need help. We need God’s help to lead us through it or away from the temptation. He can do that. However, you need to ask for his help. Do so often… He is your only way out!
PLEASE pass along this verse to friends and to anyone who may be tempted by sin (that is like…everyone). Ask if they ever feel that they are being tempted by God. Ask under what circumstances they feel that God would ever need to tempt anyone. Carefully listen to how they respond. Let them know that God can see them through any temptation and away from sin. Let them know that they is forgiveness from sin through Jesus Christ. He is The Way that leads to life eternal. Now, Take Time For God’s Word© each day and at 1:13 am/ pm or as you feel yourself being tempted (which may be often), then recall this verse and ask for deliverance from that temptation. You may want to take a photo of this verse card and save it to your album called Favorite Verses on your phone. Refer to it often. It is not a sin to be tempted… only if you give in to the temptation do you sin. Therefore, ask God to help you overcome the temptation OR have Him show you the way to escape from the temptation. There is no shame in running from temptation… sometimes that is the best exercise I get each day. Stay close to His Word to see you through any temptations.
We ask that you pray for the many groups or organizations that address common needs through social causes. This may be blood banks, community clinics, counselors, mentors, etc. which serve all people in need. They address fundamental human needs and we applaud their efforts. We encourage you to help them out wherever you can. It may even give you an opportunity to meet people of other faiths or who have no faith. It will give them the chance to see the love of Christ working in and through you. Be a blessing wherever you are. Pass on His love to others and let them know that only God can see them through their temptations and only He can give eternal life.
