Know what produces perseverance…

1:03 James “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (NIV)

This verse completes the sentence we started in verse 2. It said, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,“. The reason for the ‘pure joy’ is that the testing produces perseverance. We see in many verses the importance of perseverance…remaining faithful …devoted …diligent… enduring… and so much more. If you are being tested, then know that it is a part of the process God uses to help you to grow stronger in faith and closer to Him. It is preparing you for other challenges in life that you will need to use that deeper faith. Persevere!

PLEASE give this verse to anyone that you know who needs to persevere in difficult times. Ask if they believe that testing their faith produces perseverance. Ask if they have needed strong faith to persevere through difficulties earlier in their lives. Tell them about any situations which God has taken you through to help build you up in the faith. Encourage them. Let them know that you pray for them. Always Take Time For God’s Word© throughout each day and at 1:03 am/ pm or as you persevere through difficulties in life. Remember this verse and know that He is building you up with a greater faith. You may want to have verses 1:02 and 1:03 together so that you are seeing it as a full sentence. It is easiest to just copy the two verses and to save them into a Reminder that you set for 1:02pm each Friday. It will help you to think back on the week and the many issues or trials that came your way and how God saw you through them all. After a few weeks, you will know the verse as soon as that Reminder goes off at 1:02pm on Friday. You will be amazed at ALL that He did for you and through you this past week. Give Him the thanks and praise.

Focus your prayers today on your family and friends. We often take them for granted. We may say thanks to many people but we sometimes forget to say it to those closest to us. Remember them now. Let them know how much they mean to you. Let them know that you pray for them. Let them know that you are there for them during the tough times. Be that blessing to them. Pass it on through your perseverance and endless hope that God will care for them…forever!
