Grace, mercy, and peace from God…

1:03 2 John “Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love." (NIV)

A greeting. It is meant to make you feel special. It is meant to make you feel comfortable. It is meant to make you feel welcome. In the beginning of the 2nd letter from John, he shares the words ‘grace, mercy, and peace’ as part of his greeting. He sends that greeting from God and from Jesus AND that his message is shared in truth and in love. We should make sure that our greetings to one another show this same level of respect and welcoming to those that we meet. Pass it on!

PLEASE route this verse to all of you family, friends and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask if they have a standard greeting that they share with close friends. Ask if they have different greetings for others and if that greeting makes people feel welcome and at ease. Pay extra attention to how you greet people whether in person or in emails or even text messages. Let your words make people feel appreciated and welcomed. Then, Take Time For God’s Word© often each day at 1:03 am/ pm or as you are greeting someone, then think about this verse. This may be a good verse to use as an Action Item on your phone. Set the time for 1:03 pm with the title of “2 John 1:03 Grace, mercy, and peace…”. It will help you to put more focus on your greetings to fellow Christians and to others. It will encourage you to be more thankful for the grace, mercy and peace that God has given to you. It will further motivate you to also share that grace, mercy and peace with anyone that you meet… so that they can see the love of Christ at work within you. Let your greetings be so pleasant and welcoming that others will want to know more about you and about why you are so cheerful… then tell them!

Please continue to pray for all the local food banks and soup kitchens in your cities and communities. September is Hunger Awareness Month and is meant to encourage students and families to donate additional food to various added drop off locations. That makes it even easier to participate. The need for food is ongoing. Please make donating to these programs a regular part of your giving. Get kids and grandkids involved to help them see the joys of giving to those in need. It will be a lesson they will remember throughout their lifetimes. Stay blessed in ALL that you do in service to others. Pass it on through greetings…that start conversations… that change lives and… that have an impact for eternity!
