We have the testimony of God…Gospel Truth!

5:11 1 John “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." (NIV)

John uses several verses to confirm the trustworthiness of God and that Christ was proven with water (baptism), blood (crucifixion), and the Spirit (resurrection and ascension). We trust God. What He says is true. If we don’t believe that, then we must believe that God is a liar (and He is NOT!). So, what God has said and what Jesus proved is a true testimony. That testimony shows that God has given (already done) us eternal life… and we get that through believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Now that is exciting!! Tell someone about it!

PLEASE express the joy of this verse to friends everywhere…online, in person, via text, phone calls, telegraph, carrier pigeons, whatever it takes. Ask if they believe that God is trustworthy and true. Ask then what makes them fearful of the future if God has it already in His control. Pay attention to what they respond. Tell them about the confidence and joy that we can have by trusting in God. Let them know the forgiveness and grace that we have through Christ. Ask if you can pray for them and their needs. We do that for our friends. Please Take Time For God’s Word© daily and at 5:11 am/ pm or when you hear the word ‘testimony’, then think of this verse. We have had other 5:11 verses so you can add it as a Reminder… or think of it if you are 5’11” tall… or if there is a 5-1-1 in your phone number, address, or SSN… or any number of other ways that you care to link the numbers 5:11 to ‘testimony: God has give us eternal life’. Now that is a promise worth remembering often each day…forever!

Please continue to pray for all the teachers, aides, substitutes, social workers, etc. in our schools. What a great influence they have on our children and our grandchildren. Each day they communicate with their words, their expressions, their tone, their excitement, etc. While the material may be the same across schools and grade levels, the way that it is taught can make a HUGE difference in the lives of kids. If you are a teacher (or have previously been a teacher), THANK YOU!! You are a great giver of time, talents, patience (LOTS of patience), and love. We appreciate it. Future generations will appreciate it even more! Well Done! Stay blessed. Pass it on through the testimony from God… in His Son, we have eternal life!
