We believe Jesus is the Christ…

5:01 1 John “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well." (NIV)

No… I am not rushing the season of Christmas. I am just using this image to remind us that Jesus is the Christ who is born of God. It is one of the pivotal points of our common Christian faith. We need to celebrate that fact everyday… not just at Christmas. Jesus was the long awaited Messiah. We know the wait is over. He came…He lived…He died…He rose again…He is coming again. Keep the Good News simple. He wants ALL of us to understand it fully!

PLEASE give this verse to all of your friends… wherever they are. Ask them if they have started their Christmas shopping yet. Ask them if they are making their plans for family activities this Christmas. Let them know that you can celebrate the joy of Jesus coming into this world every day. Share with the them great Good News of His birth and His sacrifice for them. It is the best present they will ever receive…and it lasts forever! Then, Take Time For God’s Word© often each day and at 5:01 am/ pm and when you think of Christmas, then think about this verse and that Christ is born of God. This may be a verse card to print out and to pin it or tape it up where you will see it often. It is a wonderful reminder of what we believe. It is also a fun reminder that Christmas is coming… (and sooner than you think). It is always fun to be in the Christmas spirit…singing great carols / songs…planning what you want to give to family and friends… praising God for His great grace and mercy given for us… and so much more. AND, think about whom you can invite to join you for a Christmas service… but don’t wait that long…invite them to join you this week, too!

Please include in your prayers all of the seminaries and places of training for our ministers, pastors, and lay leaders in our churches and fellowship groups. We all know there is a shortage of full-time clergy and it will grow more critical in the years to come. We need to encourage our young people to consider the ministry or the mission ministries. Help them to see where they could be sharing their talents in His service and in ministry to all of God’s people. Be that blessing to them by giving your words of hope and encouragement. Pass it on as the Good News… that is a great joy all through the year!
