Let your light shine through love!

2:10 1 John “Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble." (NIV)

Christ changes everything. When you know Him as Savior and Friend, you see things differently. You treat people differently. You set new and different priorities. You talk about different things and in a different way. People will see the difference. Do they see that in you? We are not called to blend into this world. We are called to be set apart… a holy nation… a new people. Make that you goal each day… to be loving to people so that they may see Christ working in and through you! Be that blessing!

We ask that you pass along this verse to all of your Christian friends and family. Ask if they plan each day to have the greatest impact for Jesus. Ask if they go towards or away from situations where they may be challenged about their belief in Jesus. Remind them that God is with them always. He will care for them. He will provide the right words to say as a witness to what Jesus has done for us. Next, Take Time For God’s Word(c) at 2:10 am or pm and as you are walking about in the light of day, then recall this verse and shine for His glory. When I see a new verse that I want to recall in the future, I try to pick 4-5 words that are the heart of the verse. Then I try to make it visually compelling (like a star shining brightly over my Bible and highlighting this verse). It may be “Anyone who loves…lives in the light” OR just “lives in the light”. Find the method that works best for you. We are not trying to memorize every great verse (there are LOTS of them). Yet we do want to remember His Word often throughout each day… we want to Take Time For God’s Word. Continue to do so. Be blessed by Him for growing deeper in faith.

We now focus our prayers for all of the police, fire fighters, EMT personnel, etc. who are on call 24/7/365 to be there when we need help. And they come quickly. They come ready to risk personal safety to keep us safe. What a blessing they are! Tell them how much you appreciate what they do. Let them know that we pray for them. Support them and their families. It is NOT an easy job…but it is SO MUCH needed and appreciated. Stay blessed to be a blessing to others. Pass it on as you live in the light of God’s unending love!
