Names are important. We should treat them with respect. We should call on them with sincerity. We even have a commandment which emphasizes that we should not take His name in vain. Yet, not everyone follows the commandments. We do… and we are to bless His name each day from now until…forever. It will be great practice for when we will be praising that name through all eternity. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!
You can give this verse to friends and family… anywhere and everywhere. Ask them how often they hear God’s name used… in vain each day. Ask how that makes them feel and if they comment on it to the person using it improperly. It seems strange to me that people would use God’s name yet they claim that they don’t believe in Him or His power. Help them to see that His name is important. Help them to know that it is that same name which can save them… if they ask for His forgiveness. Please remember to Take Time For God’s Word© daily and as you see hear people misuse His name, then recall this verse as “113:02” and take a moment to bless the name of the Lord. This is such a short verse and very easily recalled. If you repeat it 2-3 times, you will know it. Then focus on the verse number to anchor it in your mind. You may even associate it with a name plate on your office or on an ID badge… anything with your name on it. So, as you see your name… the recall that we are to know that ‘Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever”. It is a simple statement but it is profound in the power which we gain by being blessed under that name. Cherish that. Protect that. Share that…everywhere that you go. You will be blessed by it!
We pray for those impacted by various weather events…floods, heat, fires, tornados, etc. AND, we also pray for those families and communities which are impacted by the recent shootings of innocent people across the country. We need to uplift all of those victims of tragedy so that God will be especially near and dear to them in their time of need. Support them where you can. Support organizations who are helping them. We need to be a blessing to those people in such situations. Stay blessed in all that you do. Pass it on in the blessed name of the Lord… there is great power in that name!
