He helps the poor and needy!

109:22 Psalm “For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.” (NIV)

Whenever I heard about the ‘poor and needy’, I always thought that was someone else… it really wasn’t me. Over time, I realized that there are many levels of poor, not just financial measures. I also realized that we are ALL in need of God’s love and forgiveness. We are therefore either poor, needy, or both. That is why this verse fits us all. When we realize that, we know that our heart needs the healing love of Jesus. So, accept His love and grow closer to Him each day. He can fill all of your needs!

PLEASE give this to your friends, family, or neighbors. Ask if they ever remember a time when they were poor…really poor. Ask how they survived and who helped provide for their needs. Remind them that we all have needs in many areas. Let them know that God can provide for their needs and can fill their lives with good things. He loves them and cares for them. Please continue to Take Time For God’s Word© during each day and when you see others who are poor and needy, then remember this verse as “109:22” and thank God for providing for your needs. You can set your phone with a Reminder at 9:22am with the message, “PS 109:22 I am poor and needy...” Set it to Remind you on each Saturday. It is reminder to acknowledge that you need Him. It is a reminder to consider and to help the poor. It is a reminder to be thankful for your many… many blessings. That is the great thing… one verse can help to remind you of many things. It can help you realize your blessings and to share them with others. Try it out. You will be surprised by ways it may help you.

Please continue to pray for all of the youth ministers and youth leaders in your churches or your fellowship groups. Encourage them as they focus on reaching the youth and young people with the Good News. They need to get their attention. They need to keep their attention. They need to be relevant to their interests AND they need to show the love of Jesus to kids who seem to be growing further from church and from Christianity each year. It is a challenging role. It is a vital role for the church to grow and to continue to have an impact in our world. Help them. Support them. Bless them. Pass it on to the poor and needy around you and point them to the never-failing love of Jesus.
