Be a servant who does God’s will…

103:21 Psalm “Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.” (NIV)

Some translations state this as ‘Praise the Lord’ while others use the words ‘Bless the Lord’. I enjoy reading it regardless of the version. It talks about all of the heavenly hosts who are regularly offering praise to the Lord. Then, it speaks about ‘his servants’… that could be still referring to the angels OR it may be referring to His believers who act on His behalf to do His will. That’s where I want to be… a bit lower than the angels and among ALL who have a servant’s heart. We are here to serve one another. We want God to get all the credit and all the glory from whatever service we can perform. Let’s practice that now… and until He comes again!

You can extend this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom by sharing this blog or the link to this page. Ask if they have ever thought about the angels and what they do in the presence of God. Ask if they can imagine being in their presence and added our praise to theirs. Just imagine it! Let them know that we can begin those praises right here, right now. Encourage them to have a servant’s heart and mission. God will use them for His glory. Please Take Time For God’s Word© often each day and as you hear any type of praise, then recall this verse as “103:21” and offer God praises every day. You may want to take a photo of this verse and keep it on your phone. You can link it to 3:21pm (like a countdown 3-2-1) and you can be reminded to offer praise whenever you see those numbers come up. We should be praising God at least as much as when we are asking Him to do things on our behalf. See if that is how you balance out your prayers. You will be blessed in doing so.

At this point in our monthly prayer cycle, we offer up thanks and support for all for those individuals and organizations which provide for adoption services, like Evangelical Child and Family Agency (ECFA, Wheaton, IL). Pray for and support any adoptive families that you know. Encourage those who may be planning to adopt. It is such a blessing. Our family can definitely agree with that. Stay blessed in all that you do. Remember that we have all been adopted by God to be part of His family. We are sons and daughters of the King! Pass it on with that excitement and enthusiasm for all who will join us in the family of God!
