Love the Lord…hate evil!!

97:10 Psalm “You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked.” (NLT)

There is too much hate in our world. It shows in the violence on our streets. It shows in the criminal activities across communities. It shows in the evening news every night. Yet, there is one type hate which we need to endorse and support…hate evil! Because, if we don’t… if we tolerate it, it will spread and grow more and more a part of our culture and a part of our lives. We cannot tolerate evil while we are trying to serve the Lord. Hate evil. Support the love of the Lord! Always!!!

PLEASE proclaim this verse to friends on social media and on your email list. Ask if they believe that evil is trying to infiltrate our society and our culture. Ask how they try to defend against it in their home and in their family. Share what God tells us in Psalm 97:10. Know that God cannot tolerate the presence of evil. Encourage them to stand up for what is good and right…even if there are consequences. Please Take Time For God’s Word© each day as you see examples of evil, then can think about this verse as “97:10” and focus on the love of the Lord. This would be a good verse card to print and to post where you will see it often. With evil lurking everywhere, we need to be reminded often about ways to block evil from entering your life and the lives of those you love. It will mean making some better choices in movies, TV shows, activities, and past-times. Keeping evil far from you is a great first step. Pray for more strength and grace to avoid it always!

Our prayers today focus on all of the police, firefighters, and emergency services personnel throughout our communities. They are called to serve. They do it tirelessly and faithfully. They rise to the challenges. They sacrifice when needed to keep us safe and protected. Tell them THANK YOU! Let them know that you pray for them. Continue to encourage them. Continue to be a blessing to their families. Care for them if they have that need. Stay blessed in ALL that you do. Pass it on with a love for the Lord and with a hate for evil!
