Wise up…while there is still time…

90:12 Psalm “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (NIV)

This Psalm talks about the life expectancy of 70 years or 80 years at best. Those ages don’t sound that old (to me) anymore. We keep hoping to enjoy a few more years than that. One great way to enjoy each year (or each day) is to focus on helping others. When we do, our problems seem to be set aside. Our love is for those we are helping. We feel blessed to be able to help. So, keep it up… helping others… staying close to God through His Word… and enjoying each day that He gives to you. That is a life well lived!

Can you please give this verse to family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom. Ask who was the oldest member among their relatives. Ask if they feel that they would want to live that long as well. Share with them how God can use us for His kingdom and how we can make our time both enjoyable and productive for His purposes. Remember to Take Time For God’s Word© daily as you check the calendar, then consider this verse as “90:12” and be aware that our days are numbered here on earth and are infinite when we get to heaven. This verse isn’t just about our days, it is that we are to grow ‘a heart of wisdom’. It is more than just ‘head knowledge’. It is to gain a true understanding of life… the choices which we make… how we serve others… how we serve God… and more. It means that we are having more joy because we are seeing more clearly how God is working in and through us. I pray that you will all see that one day soon. I thank you deeply for your comments and encouragements to this ministry. May you continue to be blessed to be a blessing by sharing these verses with friends and family!

Please pray for all of the homeless people and all of the groups and organizations who provide shelters and programs to help these men, women and children who basically live on the streets. A recent article stated that there were tens of thousands of homeless in Los Angeles County and in the city of Los Angeles. That is a staggering number. AND, there are homeless in all of the major cities around the country. That means, they need LOTS of prayers and LOTS of support. Give where you can. Help if you can. Part of our calling is to help those in need. We don’t need to look very far. You can be a blessing to them. Pass it on with the wisdom that God gives you and with the heart to love the needy near by.
