Make yourself feel at home!

90:01 Psalm “Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!” (NLT)

Home. Simple word. Profound feelings that we attach to it based on how and where we grew up. For some, it was one place for decades. For others, it was a temporary place as parents got transferred or needed to move. Here the Psalm writer clearly expresses that wherever we have been, our ‘home’ has always been found in the Lord. He is our refuge. He is our protection. He is our comfort. In Him we find our peace. That is still true today. No matter how far you have strayed, come home to the Lord. You will find your rest in Him… forever!

You can extend this verse to all of your friends on social media and on your email lists by copying this blog or by sharing the link to this page with them. Ask how many homes they lived in during their childhood years. Ask which of those places they like to consider ‘home’ and why they liked it so much. You will learn a lot about their life experiences based on their answers. Share experiences from your own background. Let them know that they are ALWAYS welcome home with the Lord. He is waiting for them. He will care for them always through what Jesus did for all of us on the cross. Then, Take Time For God’s Word© during each day as you see your current home, then think about this verse as “90:01” and give thanks for what God has given to you. People will often say that a ‘house’ (or apartment) is just a place on a map… a ‘home’ is what you make of it with those that you love. I like that. We have maintained our ‘home’ even though we have moved 9-10 times during our married life. Regardless of the address or location, our love for God and our hope in Him has not moved. It is still anchored into His Word and is encouraged through our church fellowship. We encourage you to find a church or fellowship group to join AND to feel at ‘home’ there with fellow believers. There is great joy that you can experience with others who know God and who follow Him. Welcome ‘home’!

We ask that you continue your prayers for all of the foster care organizations and programs that support foster care in our communities. These are kids who desperately want to find a place that they can call ‘home’. Some have been through neglect or abuse. Some have been through great loss of parents and relatives. They feel they must have done something wrong. They need loving and caring foster parents to help them to feel ‘at home’. Please do what you can to help. Encourage others to support these efforts. Be that great blessing to them. Pass it on to others that you meet by inviting them to come ‘home’ to the Lord.
